Having the heart to follow, faith to believe and the courage to act

Making a Difference

If you have to do one thing what it would be?

Looking in their innocence, I would say “how I’d love to be a child once more”.  Every time they smile and laugh with your simple gestures, on how easily would give their trust whenever you want to carry and play with them. How free-spirited they are, just running around and not to mention how charming they can be.

Children always have a special place in my heart, there is something about them that fascinates me, and whenever I see them, it would reminds me of how life can be simple with not much of complications.

Sadly, not everything it should be as be, especially how greatly affects them of the situations they didn’t choose.

Recently, I had the opportunity to see and visit Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) a government hospital which caters and gives services to the citizens of Cebu City. The hospital is situated in the office of the Bureau of Fire Protection temporarily because of 2013 earthquake incident though now they are on the process of building the new hospital just across. Far from now I would say based on what I’ve seen and observed not the typical set-up that a patient could have, nevertheless it’s discouraging but it gave me an eye opener to see the real situation and on what I can do or what we can do.

What we can do?

I was deeply moved by an american friend and his commitment to serve Filipinos in his own simple ways. Significantly, having heart for children especially those who are in greatly need. Believing that addressing their need could give them a new hope not only for the child but also to the family, as we are called to love and serve as Jesus did.

“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” –Matthew 20:28

“Now, that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” – John 13:14-15

This baby was found abandon in Carbon here in Cebu, now are being taken cared of in the hospital.

How can we make a difference?

Truly, there are lots of ways how to… what important is having the heart to be part of what God’s doing.

Want to make a difference? Let us know of how you could be part of it.

from Darkness to Light

Jesus loves me
He who died for me
Makes me whole
And gave my new life

In Him I was ransomed
Freed from the power of darkness
Now I am in Light
And never I in His grace I'll return

Whom I dearly love
With all my heart, soul and mind
For Him alone can find the joy and peace
Above all He is my God, the only whose name is great.

From afar let me look at you
Let me know you
Let me care for you

Let me love you

For I have the best for you. . .

Bud in a Meadow

One morning dew
A bud appeared in a meadow
Elusive, insignificant and unattractive
Nothing seems to appreciate
Then someone came to notice
He sees it amusing and exquisite
Drench it with love
And waited
Now the bud starts to blossom
Tinge with pretty red petals
Appealing with charming scent and
Flourish with fervor

Wouldn’t you mind, If I say “I’m not ok”!

How are you? The question that usually gets the conversation started. Then it will be answered by “I’m great” or “I’m doing fine”.  How are really the people doing? Are they really fine? I always encounter that question especially in meeting friends, I’m sure you do too. Well, if I am being asked most of the time I riposte the usual response “I’m fine” then smiled and asked back the same question. But deep inside me telling are you really fine, why can’t you tell that you are not. I baffled and said to myself they wouldn’t even care if I’m not or it will take long conversation which I opted not to. Anyways, the day will go on if I am not ok…

Later I realized that I was not being true to the person and even for myself because the truth is “I am not ok”. Whenever you are not telling the truth it means you are lying.

The opposite of TRUTH is LIE!

The point is honesty, being true to others and especially to you. It doesn’t mean that you want sympathy from others. It’s a humble step of not taking the pride in to yourself by showing to people that you are not.

Yes believe me or not, Lying is a wrong thing to do. It’s a command that God said in

Leviticus 19:11 “Do not steal, “Do not lie. Do not deceive one another.

Also He hates us lying because He is the God of truth.

Proverbs 12:22 The Lord detests lying lips, but He delights in men who are truthful.

Yet, I don’t say I am not guilty of it. I am really am!

Still I have to face the consequences of what I did wrong. However, the good news is I am Forgiven!

Why? How? God is a loving and a forgiving God.

1 John 4:19 We love because He first love us.

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this that He lay down His life for His friends.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

As what said in John 3:16 God love us so much that He gave out His son to die for us. The sin that we committed, He freed us forever from affliction and gave us eternal life. Only to believe and accept Jesus Christ!

He did it! So by the grace of God we can live a righteous life here on earth.

To live a purposeful life

Believe, Repent and Accept. Jesus is the only WAY!

John 14:6 Jesus answered. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through me.”

I am lost and now FOUND!

The Big Green Tree

The big green tree

Is wrapped with sturdy branches,

Packed with ample heart leaves

Plus with delectable drupes

Oh! I cannot wait to see,

Sit underneath and gazed above,

Watch the leaves sweep up by wind

And falls in the ground

How jovial and enthused to sense

How placid and serene to glare

Making one bestows glee

From a deep woe
